EXCELENTE GAME 4 out of 5

excellent game, very interesting and complex, you would spend hours solving it and very recommendable for the people whom they like the games of strategy

fun, but could have been better 3 out of 5

first off, part of the reason for my rating is because i cannot play this game online against anyone..if you have highspeed internet and can do so it probably adds alot more fun to it.. the game is still very fun playing against the computer though..the scale of the game universe is awsome! u pick one of the bigger maps to play on and youll have months of good gameplay. and the graphics are great too! you can zoom in from outside the solarsystem to right down next to your ships for those close up battles.
there are some downfalls for the game though. the gameplay isnt any different then alot of others, you have to collect resources, and do research to gain new abilities and ships. and while there are three different races to choose from..aside from the names and some unique abilities they all play the exact same! all have the same ships(though they look different)and all fight about the same..you choose from capital ships (5 diff for each race but all the same really) then u get frigates, bombers, carriers, and assorted other ships but they are all basically the same for each race!...not much thought was put into it...the tutorials are basic at best...and there isnt a single player campaign! no storyline to get you into the game better(there is a page about the races written in the manual but thats it)...you can choose from alot of "scenario" maps that are really all the same..just different worlds and star systems to fight over.
on the plus side the graphics are great, the gameplay is still fun and you can have huge fleets fighting each other across a hundred worlds..its defiantly a fun game but it could have been alot better. if they come out with and expansions or updates ill probably buy them..i just hope they read some of these reviews before doin so.

Fantastic Game! 5 out of 5

Some people have trouble with this game initially, and then give up. If you take the time to play the tutorials and learn how to play, you will soon be immersed in it. I play it for a full day about once a week, and I never get bored. The cinematics are awesome, the battles are fantastic, and the graphics are, quite literally, divine! One of the best games I have ever played, and it is very fun. It reminds me of the days of Alpha Centauri, which is also a long-time old favorite of mine. This beats Empire At War even!

Great effort, but lacks a story 3 out of 5

I really liked a lot of the game play and how they re-worked the genre concept in the effort to change your traditional RTS.

I do however, greatly dislike the lack of any campaign or story development. There is only the cursory glimpse at the reason why these three groups are fighting, but a little lip service is all the back story is given.

OK 3 out of 5

I'm a big technology fan, so this game was a little disappointing. I would much rather go back and play Master of Orion II or Alpha Centauari. The dynamics of the game are better, but I enjoy a different type of play.
