Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition X360
One of the best games I played 5 out of 5
If you liked The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, you're going to like this one too.
My Son Loves It!! 5 out of 5
I bought the Fallout 3 game guide for my son, and he absolutely loves having it to go with the game. That's all this Mom can tell you, but if my son loves it, it must be pretty good.
Warning: SecuROM 3 out of 5
The game is most excellent, many other reviews cover that.
Warning: Game contains SecuROM, granted it is only for CD drive checking on this game, but it is known to cause issues loading/playing when playing a legitimate copy of the game. If you are not familiar with SecuROM, just google it, it is notoriously disliked by gamers and some even boycott games containing it, namely Spore.
I just installed the game purchased from Amazon.com and click to load the game and it states, Please insert a copy of Fallout 3 in the disc drive. It is in the disc drive, I just installed the game from it. I completely unistall and reinstall it, same issue. After extensive back and forth with technical support, apparently SecuROM cannot verify the disc exists in the drive if you have the fairly common Sonic DLA burning software which comes with my drives. After uninstalling that, I was finally able to load the game.
Spore had had similar SecuROM issues with failing to load. It uses a much more extensive deep root SecuROM authentication and has been known to cause other unrelated to the game software issues. SecuROM protected products are no fun to deal with as a paying customer.
The game is excellent, their choice in SecuROM security, well, let's just say it might cause you some frustrations.
So much awesome it's a bit exhausting 4 out of 5
This is a about the most bang for your gaming buck... and when I mean bang, I'm talking about flying limbs and land mines. It has all the good points of Bethesda's attention to detail and Interplay's badassified IP. So why am I feeling so 'eh' about this?
Unfortunately, I played through the game without expansions a while ago, red ringed, and came back. I'm finding that that all the things I loved about it the first time are sucking the life out of this game now. It's goofy, it's violent, it's starkly beautiful, and it sucks time like some kinda of mega-maid.
It's a wonderful game with loads to offer, but it's still just a game... and I find it doesn't have much replay value. I think I'll come back when I've forgotten.
Excellent vaulue for an excellent game 5 out of 5
Even though Fallout 3 has been out for two years, it can be argued that it is one of the richest and fun RPGs out there for the current consoles, and since the game of the year edition features all expansions, someone can easily find 200 hours of gameplay, a great deal.
