It's OK 4 out of 5

Wacom Cintiq 12WX 12-Inch Pen Display

I like it, but it's overpriced and awkward for amateur and semi-pro use. It was easy to install, but if you use it with a tablet driver already installed they conflict. You need to disable one or the other to get them to work. You will need a video splitter if you only have one video card. The parallax issue takes a little getting used to, the offset of pen tip to drawing separated by the screen.

I like it, but am more used to the CTE 440 tablet and should have bought the new Intuos4 tablet Wacom Intuos4 Large Pen Tablet.

Best art tool I got, but could be better 4 out of 5

Pros:

I have to say, since I've gotten this baby, I've improved my drawing efficiency and skills by alot. Check link for sample: [...] I also first thought the screen was going to be small, but its perfect: Not too big and not too small. I heard that people say the screen gets hot, but the heat doesn't bother me, I barely even notice it and I use it up to 7 hours at a time sometimes.

Cons:

At that price, I thought that it would be like its own mini tablet pc, independent of my own pc, so I can "bring it anywhere" but I guess not. Shady advertising if you ask me. It's completely stuck with your PC and can't go more than 6 feet away from it. It's just a monitor with a touch screen, nothing else. Had I known this fact, I might have bought a tablet pc instead, maybe. At least with a tablet pc, you would truly be able to go anywhere without wires, and actually be able to save your drawings right onto the tablet. The cables are thick but it should be fine once you find a good stable position. You'll also need a good amount of your desktop space to use this. Another con is that since this is a monitor, you will have to replace your monitor with this unless: A) you buy a switch or B) your gfx card has dual monitor capability (This doesnt make for a very good monitor with its resolution limits).
Also, the pen DOES get shaky towards the edges no matter how you calibrate, that's just the nature of this beast. I probably won't be buying another one of these tablets until intuos gets better products.

Overall:

Even with all the cons, I'm pretty laid back which is why I gave it 4 stars. The most important thing for me was that it does its job; I get drawings done and its made me more efficient. Also, even though I said that I might've gotten a tablet PC, the truth is that I looked at several tablet PC's before deciding to just buy this product; This thing is made for drawings and art: this has more levels of pressure sensitivity and accuracy compared to tablet pc's of the same price range. It's true that the cursor shakes and gives inconsistent drawings towards the edges, but I just drag the part I want to draw into the center and everything is fine. I've gotten used to the cons of this tablet and it doesn't really bother me anymore. If you're a hardcore artist that doesn't mind being tied to your PC, then I would recommend this, unless you have the money to buy the 12wx's big brother, the cintiq 21ux.

Great efficiency gains 5 out of 5

Easy to setup and easy to use. After only having used the tablet seriously for two weeks, our designers estimate that it has improved their sketcthing and conceptual development efficiency by 30%.

Wacom Cintiq 12wx is great...software from Corel is NOT!!! 4 out of 5

I purchased the Wacom Cintiq 12wx for my daughter for Christmas. The actual Wacom Cintiq 12wx is GREAT!!! Perfect size for easy and comfortable use (drawing, painting, etc.) The software from Corel (Corel painter sketch pad) freezes up on EVERy computer that we have causing her to lose her work. We have purchased Corel Painter 4 which works much better and she LOVes IT!!! I would recommend the Wacom Cintiq 12wx but I would also recommend not wasting your time loading the free Corel software...skip it and buy a better one!!!

At last!! 5 out of 5

I heard so many positive things about the Cintq drawingboard that I just had to get me one! I hope that it is all I hoped for...
