amazing. i had been playing civilization for more than a year and thought that the vanilla version was superb and the best it could get. i bought beyond the sword thinking "a few new leaders and scenarios would be fun," and after the first week was astounded by the thought put into this. i had not been expecting the new unit abilities and promotions, or the new espionage feature. the privateers, blockade trade routes, and air unit combat are the best improvements i can think of now, but there are countless more!

If you love startegy games this is a must buy. I have always heard about the Civ Games and never tried until Civ IV, and this is a great game for any lover of strategy games. Ease of use, but the depth of the options and decisions in this game are incredible.

I recommend this as a must buy.
