My daughters favorite! 5 out of 5
Of all the Nancy Drew games my daughter likes this one the most. She enjoyed the activies that Nancy has to do to move on in the game, and said it was the fastest to play.
this is for 10 and up???? 4 out of 5
i am ejoying this game now that i have the cheat sheet. otherwise i would just have quit. IT IS HARD!!!! how can this be rated for 10 and up?
Beatiful Scenery 3 out of 5
Now Nancy's off to Hawii to work for an entimologist named Dr. Quigly Kim(yes Quigley is her first name, not Kim, I got mixed up too), or so she thinks. Soon she discovers that Dr. Kim is missing and a whole new case unravels. Guess who gets to join her, the infamous Hardy Boys! For the most part I liked this game, well somtimes, there were a few annoyances. I loved playing as the Hardy Boys. When you played as them, you got beatiful scenery, fun people to talk to, and lots of fun activites to do if you are stuck on the case and wanted a break. When you played as Nancy, there was only one, seriously annoying character to talk to, lots of annoying chores to do, and no beautiful, lush scenery. This is the reason I rated it three stars. It was really fun playing as the Hardy Boys, but when you got to Nancy, well, how do I put this, it just wasn't. Another flaw I had was the ending. The ending was dissapointing and not thrilling at all. If you are a first time player, try a different game such as Warnings at Waverly Academy. If you are a huge Nancy Drew fan trying to collect them all (like me)go for it, because there deffinatley were a lot of fun parts, just a little too many, not so fun parts.
One of the worst Nancy Drew games. 2 out of 5
I was very disappointed with this game. I played all of the ND mystery games and I'm a big fan. This was a short game and not interesting. Nancy Drew's assignment was looking through bug waste and counting and weighting whatever she found. The only thing I liked was playing as Hardy boys when Nancy Drew called them on the phone.
Not that bad 4 out of 5
Everyone seemed to hate this game, and I will admit that the puzzles were tedious, but I still thought that this was a good game.
Story-You got a free plane ticket to Hawaii in exchange for working with an entomologist (bug scientist) for the summer. When you get there, you have to rent your car from a man, and you soon find out that Frank and Joe Hardy are staying with him. You find out that they are doing a background search as a mission for a gevernment program that they work for (ATAC = American Teens Against Crime). You continue on to the bug scientist's camp and find it in shambles. Someone-or something-has torn the place apart.
Graphics-They were really great just like the last game. HERinteractive has really stepped up at this point with graphics.
Sound-You kind of hear a quirky style of Hawaiian music playing in the background. It's very happy and doesn't make the atmosphere scary at all.
Gameplay-Okay, there were a few changes. First, you are able to "become" the Hardy Boys whenever you want just by calling them. The first 1/4 of the game you can switch to Joe, and in the last 3/4 of the game you "become" Frank. The puzzles were really monotonous and boring in this game, though, and that is what took away from playing the game. I used a walkthrough for some of them not because they were hard, but just because they were horrible. I couldn't stand them! The Hardy Boys have to earn "money" in the game, also, so you have the option of catching fish and selling them or making shell necklaces and selling them.
Fun-Like I said the puzzles were NOT fun, and the stories could have been, but switching back and forth did get a little confusing, but overall, this was a fun game. Not as fun as others but fun.
Length-It took me 2-3 days to finish, and it now takes me about 8-9 hours (because I still use a walkthrough for the HORRIBLE puzzles).
All in all, it's a good game. The only thing is, it really isn't a fun game.
