Defected Game 1 out of 5
This game is so much fun to play! I have only played it 3 times, and each time, I was amused by the wonderful graphics and overall gameplay. However, it is such a shame that this game is so defected! Every time I want to play it, I need to reinstall it, and then, meanwhile I'm playing it unexpectedly closes, so then I have to reinstall the game (again) to play it for another 30 minutes, until it crashes again.I tried downloading the patch, but it didn't help. I would not recommend buying this game to others.
Not Overly Impressed 3 out of 5
A few years ago, I received Sim City 3000 as a gift & really enjoyed it. When I saw Sim City 4 advertised on Amazon & the good reviews, I ordered it & couldn't wait to try it. It is different from the previous in some good ways & some not so good, in my opinion. The graphics & detail of the landscape are more intricate, but the player doesn't have as much control over things like laying roads & planning neighborhoods, which are things I enjoy most. The biggest innovation in Sim City 4 is the introduction of Sims persons, which can be made up or moved in from The Sims games, & who add their insight & opinions of the city. Also, the player can drive various cars & other modes of transportation, which I thought would be cool to look around the city from the driver's viewpoint. Well, that's not how it works. When driving a car, the player only sees the outside of the car (or other vehicle) as it proceeds down the roads. The player can earn "points" to boost public opinion of his/her mayor-ship, & can participate in timed "races". I have no interest in that type of thing; I'm only interested in building the cities!
I was rather disappointed in this version of Sim City, & will probably go back to playing Sim City 3000. I would like to see Maxis create an extremely detailed, intricate version of Sim City, focusing only on the many decisions needed in building a city & making it thrive, & not the social connotations of playing The Sims.
